A Matter of Balance emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity levels. Participants who fear falling learn to view falls and the fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance. This class is more conversation-based than exercise based.
Audience: Adults who fear falling.

In-Person Class
Duration
- 2-hour sessions
- 8 sessions, 1 class per week for 8 weeks OR
- 8 sessions, 2 classes per week for 4 weeks

- 2 leaders
- Requires 2-day training
- Leaders must teach 1 class per year to maintain program certification
